Harvesting Corn in October
Harvesting Corn in October

Lines of clouds cross through October’s sky.
Lines of corn mark Indiana fields.
Harvesters remove dried grain and I
Prepare my heart and wonder what it yields?

  1. Hopefully,. as poets, we can harvest the bounty of our own creativity and imagination. Thanks for hosting. It’s been a awhile since iambs and feet were paid much attention.

  2. preparing a field like preparing a heart, I like that connection, starting fresh with what is already there. lovely lines Frank, really from the heart

  3. Beautifully and — seemingly — effortlessly done. I know that country… traveled it many times. The run-on from the field of soil to the field of heart is really nice.
